Former Baltimore Sun and Patuxent Publishing Co. photographer David Hobby, aka “The Strobist,” was recently named by Time Magazine as the one of the best 25 blogs of the year. The Strobist blog demystifies off-camera lighting while maintaining a budget-minded populist ethos for the non-professionals who just want to make their photos better. Hobby is photographed in his Dorsey Search backyard using a five-light (four “big” lights and one “small” light, on the right) set up, Friday, July 9, 2010.
