The twinkle of a dream fades as reality settles in. Playing ball in the Major Leagues is a pipe dream. Most high school players never play on a college diamond. But what if your dad did? What if your dad was the starting second baseman for the Twins and held the highest batting average, .487, of the 1987 World Series. Atholton senior Stevie Lombardozzi, in many ways shines in the shadow of his Major League Dad, Steve Lombardozzi. His 2007 stats with the Raiders include a .460 batting average, 27 RBI’s, 2 home runs, 5 triples and 9 doubles. In the photo, Stevie waits on deck to bat against Marriotts Ridge in Marriottsville Monday May 8, 2007, but in many ways, he is on deck to live that pipe dream.
LOVE this shot!
